During this webinar Gavekal’s founding partner and Chief Economist Anatole Kaletsky and Invesco’s Chief Global Market Strategist Kristina Hooper give their view on the outlook for inflation and asset class implications. The moderator is Han de Jong.
Anatole Kaletsky will discuss the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine which has transformed global economic conditions in ways that will continue to resonate for many years ahead, even after the war is over. But what is uniquely dangerous is that this war has hit the world economy as it exits the Covid pandemic and undertakes an enormous energy transition, with inflationary pressures already at generational highs. Kristina Hooper will give a historical perspective on inflation and where we are in the business cycle. She will dive into her base case scenario for inflation of peaking mid-2022 but also the risk scenarios of inflation proving transitory in the short term and persistent without cooling. And what are the implications for asset allocation, sectors and tilts and regions in these different scenarios. (LinkedIn)
