In an environment marked by increasing geopolitical tension with potentially significant consequences for the security and the pensions of their members, pension funds are increasingly confronted with difficult choices around safety, resilience, and long-term robustness.
CFA Society Netherlands and SPIL (Sustainable Pension Investment Lab) convene an in-depth discussion based on A robust policy approach in uncertain times. Pension fund board choices on security and resilience.
The session brings together academic insight and practitioner experience:
· Marcel Andringa, Executive Board Member at PME, will reflect on how his pension fund translates resilience and security considerations into concrete governance and policy choices.
· Jaap van Dam, Member of SPIL, will introduce and reflect on the key findings of the paper, outlining the strategic dilemmas facing boards today.
· The discussion will conclude with a panel in which managers will explore how they support pension funds on these issues and how considerations around resilience and security are embedded in day-to-day investment implementation.
